Dr. Young is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Arkansas.  She currently serves as the program coordinator for the Childhood and Elementary Education programs.  She also serves in the role of Director for the University of Arkansas Clinic for Literacy. 

Research interests include literacy education and assessment in the elementary schools, the process of teacher change, and the impact of authentic and intensive experiences on teacher preparation and retention.

The purpose of this project is to equip first year teachers with the information and skills needed to persist in the teaching profession while promoting the academic achievement of their students. Role: Co- Investigator. Other-Investigators: Lindsey Swagerty and Dr. Angela Elsass. Amount funded: $12,000.
