Teaching Outside the Box: Blogs, Wikis and Podcasting

February 29, 2008

A technology education workshop designed specifically for workforce education teachers will be offered by the University of Arkansas. This workshop will explore ways to integrate exciting and fun technologies into your classroom. The participants will learn about tools that can enhance their teaching and motivate students' learning. The workshop will explore the educational application of blogs, wikis, RSS feeds and Podcasting — technologies that allow you to teach outside the four walls of your classroom.

Does all this sound interesting? If you are interested, please complete this workshop application. Previous experience or knowledge of these technologies is not required to apply for this workshop. We will be choosing 30 workforce education teachers who are excited about technology to participate in this daylong workshop. We will provide workshop materials, substitute teacher pay, lunch and parking on the University of Arkansas campus. You will earn professional development credits for participating in the workshop. If you are chosen as one of the participants, you must incorporate at least one of the technologies into one of your classes and evaluate the effectiveness of your project with a pre- and post-test of student knowledge. You must also be willing to share this information with other teachers at your school.

Please complete and submit the application below.
