As an undergraduate at Clemson University, I studied biological sciences, specifically plant biology & taxonomy and environmental science.  Post-graduation, I interned at with an environmental planning agency before returning to earn a teaching license in South Carolina for secondary science and social studies instruction.  While teaching high school and middle, I returned to Clemson University to work on masters' in education in natural sciences where I specifically studied ecology focused on limnology, island ecology, and spiders. Upon completing my master's, I moved to the Univeristy of Georgia for graduate school with the language and literacy education department where I researched interactions and dialgoues between sceince liteary and religious literacy.  I primarily taught the teacher preparation courses for content area literacies and worked with the departmental reading clinic.  During my last year of graduate school, I taught general biology and marine biology labs, recalling my passion for science instruction.  

I am currently the program coordinator for educational studies at the University of Arkansas were I oversee program administration, advising, and teaching for 200+ undergradates.  Educational studies is an education major focused program program that stresses the role of education in a functional society as the unifying force between traditional social institutions; the program is not a teaching program.  During my time as program coordinator, I have overseen a major program restructing to establish the educational studies curriculum as the premier education, non-teacher training, program in the state.  

I currently serve on the Univeristy ROTC Program Committee, College of Education & Health Professions College Council, and as Technology Director for the Clinic for Literacy.  On weeknights, I provided academic support at the Jerry & Gene Jones Center for Student-Atheletes.

In my free time I can be found enjoying baseball games at Baum Stadium or football at Reyonalds Stadium....since I cannot be back to watch baseball and football in Clemson.
