B.S.E. in Career and Technical Education

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction offers a Bachelor of Science in Education degree in Career and Technical Education with several concentrations:

  • Business Education offers on-campus students the chance to become effective educators and communicators as they learn to teach the latest computer technologies and sharpen their education and interpersonal skills. Individualized programs are designed to advance communication, critical thinking, human resource development, pedagogy, problem-solving, as well as research, scholarship and technical skill.
  • Family and Consumer Sciences Education students use their critical and creative thinking skills to strengthen problem solving. The diverse curriculum offers studies that mirror real life, enabling students to develop both personal and professional skills.
  • Technology Education prepares one to teach technology, pre-engineering, or other technical subject matter at the high school, middle-level, or community college. Additionally, the program prepares one to enter mid-level technical/management careers in business and industry.
M.Ed. in Secondary Education (Career and Technical Education concentration)

The M.Ed. in Secondary Education-CATE is designed for already-licensed teachers of secondary teachers who want to expand their professional competence. It is designed for students in Career and Technical Education who desire to be a teacher or for already-licensed CATE teachers who desire advanced knowledge in their subject area.
