As department head, Daugherty is responsible for all of the courses, degrees and licensure programs in the department. Currently, there are 33 full-time, tenure track faculty, 15 clinical instructors, and 36 additional staff members who are supervised by Daugherty.

Assistant to the Department Head: Carol Whisenhunt serves as a member of the departmental administrative team with a variety of assignments. She is responsible for all aspects of student enrollment, working with program coordinators on course rotation scheduling, serving as the department's liaison with the Graduate School and as the department's primary contact for all student grievances. In addition, Whisenhunt coordinates with each academic program and the appropriate college office on scholarship/award announcements, distributions, and programs to support student advocacy at the department level.

Career and Technical Education Program Coordinator: Dr. Betsy Orr coordinates the career and technical education (CATE) program. The career and technical education program has three concentrations: business education, family and consumer sciences education and technology education. Students pursuing the Bachelor of Science in Education (B.S.E.) degree can choose one of the concentrations as a field of specialization. Requirements for Arkansas initial licensure may be met by completion of the B.S.E. and the appropriate Praxis exams. Students will be eligible for licensure in grades 7-12. The career and technical education teacher licensure degree program does not require students to enter the M.A.T.

Childhood Education Program Coordinator: Dr. Linda Eilers coordinates the childhood education (CHED) program. The childhood education program prepares teachers for grades pre-school through fourth grade. It is the largest undergraduate program in the College of Education and Health Professions. Eilers is responsible for advising, program reviews, admissions and record maintenance.

Educational Leadership Program Coordinator: Dr. Carleton R. Holt coordinates the Educational Leadership (EDLE) program. This program prepares students for licensure as a building level principal, a district level superintendent or an Arkansas curriculum/program administrator. The EDLE program area offers the M.Ed., Ed.S. and the Ed.D. degrees. For students already holding a master's degree, this program has certificates in supervision available for building level, district level or Arkansas curriculum/program level in curriculum or special education. Holt's responsibilities include program reviews, development, recruiting of students, admissions, record maintenance and advising.

Educational Statistics and Research Methods Program Coordinator: Dr. Ronna Turner coordinates the educational statistics and research methods (ESRM) program.

Educational Technology Program Coordinator: Dr. Cheryl Murphy coordinates the educational technology (ETEC) program. This program offers a Master of Education degree in educational technology, which prepares students for professional positions as educational/instructional technologists and instructional designers in education, business, government and the health professions. Murphy is responsible for recruitment of students, advising, program reviews, admissions and record maintenance.

Elementary Education Program Coordinator: Dr. Heather Kindall coordinates the elementary level education (ELED) program.

The undergraduate middle-level education program must be completed by the end of spring 2010. Following spring 2010, the undergraduate middle-level education program will be discontinued.

The secondary education program does not offer a bachelor's degree; all students interested in teaching at the secondary level must first earn a bachelor's degree in a content area (e.g., math, science, English, foreign language) and then enter the secondary education M.A.T program. Wavering is responsible for recruitment of students, advising, program reviews, admissions and record maintenance.
