Assistant Department Head: Dr. Carleton R. Holt serves as a member of the departmental administrative team with a variety of assignments. He is responsible for all aspects of student enrollment, working with program coordinators on scheduling, serving as the department's liaison with the Graduate School and as the department's primary contact for all student grievances. In addition, Dr. Holt coordinates with each academic program and the appropriate college office on scholarship/award announcements, distributions, and programs to support student advocacy at the department level.

The career and technical education program has three concentrations: business education, family and consumer sciences education and technology education. Requirements for Arkansas initial licensure may be met by completion of the B.S.E. and the appropriate Praxis exams. Students will be eligible for licensure in grades 7-12. The career and technical education teacher licensure degree program does not require students to enter the M.A.T.
