Professional Biography:
Dr. Wang is a statistician and a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) specialist at the National Office for Research on Measurement and Evaluation Systems (NORMES). His academic background includes a dual M.S. degree in Statistics and Biology, and a Ph.D. in Plant Science from the University of Arkansas.
Job Duties:
As a statistician, Dr. Wang works on state-wide K-12 educational database management and statistical analysis of K-12 educational data. The research results are on the website http://normes.uark.edu/, and the web-based materials are used by K-12 educators in Arkansas for school improvement. As a GIS specialist, Dr. Wang is responsible for the Geographical Academic Policy Series (GAPS), which integrates GIS with educational research and policy, and provides educational analysis through geographical representations. GAPS is part of an award-winning educational website of the NORMES.
