Professional Biography:
Lisa Twitty earned her B.S.E. in Elementary Education from the University of Arkansas in 2001. She served as a manager in the banking industry for two years before going back to school to work on her M.S. in Counseling. She hopes to graduate in December of 2005. She is currently the Vice President of the local chapter of Chi Sigma Iota and is a member of the American Counseling Association, the Arkansas Counseling Association, and the Association for Marriage and Family Therapists. She was the director of a Supervision Symposium sponsored by Chi Sigma Iota in the fall of 2004 and has presented many round table discussions, presentations, and poster sessions for the American Educational Research Association and the Arkansas Counseling Association. She is currently writing several chapters for a collaborative book on treating clients with Cancer, and she is assisting with research sponsored by the National Science Foundation. Her voluntary works include teaching self-defense classes to women and tutoring children through a local literacy council.
Job Duties:
As a graduate assistant for ORME, Lisa is responsible for gathering the qualitative data for the NSF project, doing literature reviews, maintaining detailed Excel and SAS files for data analysis, and assisting in the presentation of research findings in the form of writing articles and doing presentations at the local and national level. Her duties require detailed knowledge of Excel, research design, qualitative data collection, and the A.P.A. standards for publication. She also has strong team working skills that assist her in being a liaison for the teachers and scientists in the NSF project.
